Brownstown Central Overpowers Columbus East in Top-Ranked Showdown

The Class 3A No. 1-ranked Brownstown Central Braves proved why they sit atop the rankings, dominating Columbus East 67-31 in a one-sided affair at the Orange Pit.
The Braves (16-0) wasted no time asserting control, jumping out to an 8-0 lead and never looking back. Their hot shooting from beyond the arc was the difference-maker, as they connected on 13 three-pointers throughout the game.
Despite a valiant effort from Columbus East (11-7), the Olympians couldn’t keep pace. Grayson Watters led East with seven points, while Carter Patterson added six.
The Braves ended the first half on a 7-0 run, then followed that up with a 22-8 third quarter, effectively putting the game out of reach. With a 43-21 lead midway through the third, Brownstown Central ripped off an 18-3 run, triggering a running clock with seven minutes left in the game.
East was missing three key players—Ethan Bumbalough, Alex Duncan, and Mason Reeves—due to injury, making an already tough matchup even more difficult.
The Olympians will look to bounce back in conference play as they prepare for a key matchup against New Albany on Saturday.
