Wrong-way drive on interstate leads to arrest
An Ohio woman has been arrested after driving the wrong way on Interstate 74 and crashed into an Indiana State Police vehicle.
According to troopers, a Dearborn County deputy noticed a car driving westbound in the eastbound lanes near the Ohio and Indiana state lines early Sunday morning. Troopers picked up the chase and one trooper set up to intercept the vehicle. The driver tried to avoid the trooper by heading into the median but the two vehicles crashed together at slow speed and the driver continued on before another trooper arrived to help stop the driver altogether.
The driver, 35-year-old Erin Dowers of Cincinnati was found to be intoxicated. She was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and reckless driving.
