Whitehorse Road closed for road improvements

Bartholomew County officials say that Whitehorse Road will be closed until at least Friday for road work in the area.

According to the Bartholomew County Highway Department, the road closed yesterday afternoon. County crews will be making improvements to the road and realigning it between Bellsville Pike in Brown County to Youth Camp Road. During the work, a large section of the roadway will be removed.

Only local traffic will be allowed through and barricades will be staggered for local traffic. Highway officials urge you not to ignore the road closing signs and not to move signs or barricades.

The work is expected to finish by 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, but the work schedule is dependent on the weather.

You should avoid the area if you can.
