A speeding driver ended up getting arrested on drug related charges after fleeing from Jennings County deputies.

According to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, the incident started on Tuesday when a deputy noticed a vehicle driving 50 mph in the 30 mph zone on State Street. When the deputy tried to pull the driver over, the vehicle took off ignoring the speed limit and traffic control signs.

Another deputy put down tire deflation devices near Franklin and State streets, but the driver tried to avoid the trap by turning down Scott Street. But he was going too fast and crashed, disabling the vehicle. Police arrested the driver, Gavin Henry, who was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.

After being released, he was arrested on charges including resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, and for possessing a legend drug and drug paraphernalia.
