Six arrested in Jennings County drug dealing investigation
Six people have been arrested in Jennings County as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
According to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, a search warrant was served on a home on Knoll Drive in Country Squire Lakes on Monday afternoon. Deputies found fentanyl packaged to sell, methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia including scales, packaging materials and other items related to narcotics distribution. A police dog also found 3.5 grams of methamphetamine that was hidden under a bed.
One person at the home tried to run from officers, but was quickly caught by police. An Indiana conservation officer and his police dog found 4.5 grams of crack cocaine that suspect had allegedly thrown in the woods while running. That suspect, Stanely Sawyer, is facing felony charges for possessing the cocaine, as well as obstruction of justice and a misdemeanor charge of visiting a common nuisance.:
Five people at the home were arrested including the resident Aaron Mason who is facing felony charges for dealing in narcotics as well as for possessing drugs and maintaining a common nuisance.
Robert Pickett is being accused of possessing meth and a syringe.
The other three are facing misdemeanor charges of visiting a common nuisance. Those include Floyd Wayne Johnson Jr., Kenneth McDonald and Xavier Garlinghouse.
