Pence uses state fair visit to talk on inflation, insurrection

Former Vice President and Indiana Governor Mike Pence, a Columbus native, came back to the Hoosier state on Wednesday, visiting the Indiana State Fair and talking to the crowd at the Pioneer Village.

Pence discussed inflation and the negative impact it is having on both Hoosiers and the rest of the country. Pence blames President Biden for high inflation.

Pence says if he’s elected President, he’ll change that by relying on four pillars of his financial plan: fiscal responsibility, reforming the Federal Reserve, enhancing manufacturing, and unleashing American energy.

Pence also touted his economic record from his time as governor of Indiana.

Pence spoke on former President Trump’s recent indictment over alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. He said Trump was “surrounded by a group of crackpot lawyers that kept telling him what his itching ears wanted to hear.” Pence said he fulfilled his own duty by certifying the election results on January 6th, 2021.

Pence, however, questioned whether the DOJ would be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt Trump broke the law.

Pence is running against Trump for the Republican nomination for president.
