Narcotics team investigation leads to Columbus man’s arrest

A Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team investigation led to the arrest of a Columbus man on drug-related charges.
According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, the investigation led the team to stop a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Joshua Nicholas on Thursday. A police dog alerted to the smell of narcotics inside the vehicle and a search uncovered about two ounces of methamphetamine, digital scales and packaging materials.
Nicholas was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing in and possessing meth as well as possessing marijuana.
The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, is a combined unit of the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbus Police Department and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office. It targets the manufacturing and abuse of dangerous drugs in Columbus and Bartholomew County.
