kidscommons to celebrate 20th anniversary with block party

Kidscommons will be celebrating its 20th anniversary at its current location with a block party next month.

The children’s museum moved to its current site at 309 Washington Street in 2005, opening on October 1st. The space is five times larger than the previous location inside the old Commons Centre across the street. The smaller, pilot location opened in The Commons in 1998.

The museum offers three floor s interactive exhibits including a climbing wall, bubble room, childhood garden and a giant toilet as part of its ExploraHouse exhibit.

The anniversary event will be Friday, October 3rd and will include a touch-a-truck with local rescue workers and Toyota Material Handling, an art program and STEM demonstrations. Children can meet and have their photos taken with storybook characters such as Clifford the Big Red Dog, Paddington Bear, and Skippyjon Jones. There will also be music and live performances.

Admission is free and you are invited to attend. The block party will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on October 3rd, on Washington Street in downtown Columbus between Third and Fourth Streets.
