Jennings deputies investigating Monday shooting death

Jennings County deputies and Indiana State Police are investigating a shooting Monday night that left a North Vernon man dead.

Authorities have released few details, but say the shooting happened at about 7 p.m. Monday in Country Squire Lakes.

The sheriff’s department says that this is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released as the investigation progresses.

Chief Deputy Dave Turner stressed that the department does not believe the public was ever in any danger during the incident, which authorities refer to as “isolated.”
