Hope Heritage Days parade honors Herron
Hope Heritage Days unfolded over the weekend with perfect weather. The annual parade was Sunday afternoon, with MC duties performed by White River Broadcasting’s own Sam Simmermaker and Jonathan Titus.
Organizers of the parade chose former Republic publisher Bud Herron as this year’s grand marshal. Herron said it is a rare honor to be recognized by the people who know you best.
In addition to his work at The Republic and the Daily Journal in Franklin, Herron has served as a guardian ad litem for children in the court system, a former CEO of Heritage of Hope and a founding member of the Hawcreek-Flat Rock Endowment Fund board.
Parade organizers also have announced the winners of trophies for participants.
