Fire damages North Vernon garage, classic cars
North Vernon along with Jennings County firefighters battled a blaze at a garage yesterday that also damaged several classic cars.
According to the North Vernon Fire Department, they were originally called to a reported vehicle fire on Hicks Street at around 1 p.m. Wednesday. But when they arrived they found the Clark’s Towing garage fully engulfed in flames.
The Clark family has set up a GoFundMe page. According to the site, a family member was working on a vehicle when the fire broke out. They say that the garage also contained several project vehicles owned by customers.
According to North Vernon firefighters, also assisting at the scene were the Vernon, Scipio and Geneva, Campbell and Lovett township fire departments.
