Dangerous heat expected this afternoon

Forecasters say that it is going to be dangerously hot today.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, the real temperature is going to be in the low 90s but the humidity is going to make that feel like it is up to 108 during the hottest part of the day.

A heat advisory is going into effect from 11 this morning until 8 tonight.

They say that the high temperatures have the potential to cause heat related illnesses. They recommend that you drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

If you need to find a spot to cool off, you can call 211 to find a cooling station near you.
