Cummins hosting community recycling day, Oct. 2nd

The Cummins Engine Plant and Columbus and Bartholomew County Recycling Center will be hosting a community recycling day early next month.

The event at the plant on Central Avenue in Columbus will allow tyou to drop off recyclable items from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 2nd.

According to organizers, you can bring appliances and electronic waste, aluminum cans and scrap metal, used antifreeze and motor oil, propane tanks, tires, chemicals or pesticides, some plastics, devise that contain mercury and household paints or stains.

Some items that will not be accepted include Styrofoam, bricks and pavers, tractor tires, normal trash or wood waste.
