Concrete patching to close Interstate 65 exit lane

INDOT contractors will be concrete patching at the State Road 46 interchange with Interstate 65 in Columbus this weekend.

According to the state, Force Construction crews will be starting on the exit ramp from Interstate 65 northbound to westbound State Road 46 and the left lane on the ramp will be closed starting on Sunday. The work is expected to be finished by Thursday. The work schedule is dependent on the weather.

INDOT says that the patching work will effect the traffic signals at the interchange. Instead of using the loop sensors in the pavement, the signals will be placed on timers while the work is ongoing. You should expect some delays.

There will be more ramp restrictions in the coming weeks and you can check back for updates once the schedule is finalized.

The work is all part of the project adding travel lanes on Interstate 65.
