Columbus to show off new Deaver Road water tower
Columbus City Utilities is officially unveiling its new water storage tank off of Deaver Road.
According to the city water company, the tank started construction at Deaver Road and County Road South 175W in 2023 and fully came on line recently It holds two million gallons of water and helps the utility keep up with the growing water demands throughout the system.
The water tank was part of a package of projects finances through a $22.2 million dollar loan the Indiana State Revolving Fund Loan Program. Other components included four new wells, a new booster station, a new water main under Interstate 65 and several other water main replacement.
Ashley Getz, Associate Director of Engineering, said that the new water storage tank has already made a positive impact just in the few months it has been online.
The utility will be holding a ribbon cutting event on September 17th at 9 am in the morning at the tower. That is at 5595 South County Road 175W. The event is free and you are invited to attend.
