Columbus Fire Department Announces Arrival of New Fire Engine 4
The Columbus Fire Department is announcing the arrival of a new fire and emergency services engine and inviting the community to it’d dedication ceremony. The dedication ceremony for the new Fire Engine 4 will be held Thursday August 7th located at Columbus Fire Station 1 1101 Jackson Street at 5:30pm.The ceremony will last approximately thirty minutes. The ceremony is typically held at the station that is receiving the equipment but was moved to Station 1 due to lack of parking. The new Engine 4 is a custom eMax Typhoon Rescue Pumper manufactured by E-One. The 2025 pumper can carry up to four firefighters and is outfitted with a full compliment of firefighting equipment as well as advanced life support and trauma equipment. The engine is also equipped with a Cummins ISL 450 HP Engine which has a 530 gallon portable water supply and can pump 1500 gallons of water per minute. The apparatus currently designated as Engine 4 will be reassigned to a reserve engine. The City of Columbus purchased the engine through an investment of approximately $740,848.00.
