Bicyclist dies after crash in Greensburg

A bicyclist died after getting hit at a crossing for a bike trail Thursday in Greensburg.

According to the Greensburg Police Department, officers were called to a report of an unconscious woman in the roadway near the intersection of a Montgomery Road and Fleetwood Drive in Greensburg at about 10:40 a.m. yesterday morning. They found 20-year-old Nyssa Campos near the trail crossing at Montgomery Road, where she had been riding her bike. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Decatur County Coroner’s Office..

Police say that the vehicle which struck her was no longer at the scene. They later located a commercial vehicle being driven by 37 year old Johnathan Hayden of Indianapolis. They say Hayden is cooperating with the investigation.

Police say that the investigation is ongoing and the Indiana State Police Reconstruction Team is assisting.
