Annual POW/MIA ceremonies set for Friday evening
A ceremony is coming up tomorrow to honor prisoners of war and those missing in action.
This will be the 11th year for the National POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremonies at the Bartholomew County Memorial For Veterans on the courthouse lawn. The event will include a presentation of the colors and a rifle volley by the American Legion Post 24 Honor Guard. Along with performances by the Columbus Indiana Children’s Choir, David Maurey, Michael Schmeltz and the Southern Indiana Pipes and Drums.
Olivia McQueary will read the names of the 62 POWs and MIAs from our area and MC Zack Ellison will tell the stories of Ernest “Jack” Hogan and Robert E. Hogan.
The ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday night at the memorial. The event is free and you are invited to attend.
