Sarah Ash Simpson Hired as Senior Director of Public Policy at Indiana Soybean Alliance

Sarah Ash Simpson has been hired by the Indiana Soybean Alliance (ISA) to serve as their next Senior Director of Public Policy and Industry Affairs.
Sarah has 20 years of experience in policy, legislative, and agency leadership. Most recently, she worked for 12 years with the Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH), where she served as General Counsel, advising leadership and board members on a broad range of issues related to animal health, welfare, and agriculture.
A Tippecanoe County native, Sarah grew up working on her family’s grain and hog operation in Carroll County, giving her a strong personal connection to Indiana production agriculture. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Administration from Purdue University. Sarah also received her Juris Doctor from the Valparaiso University School of Law in 2005.
Sarah replaces Steve Howell, who had previously served in that role with ISA before leaving in June to serve as Indiana Rural Development State Director for USDA.
“I am looking forward to working with Indiana corn and soybean farmers on state and federal policy issues of critical importance to their businesses and US food security. I truly enjoyed my 19 years in public service and am grateful to the citizens of Indiana for entrusting me with the role of working to ensure the health of our animals and safety of our food products. I am looking forward to this new chapter and joining such an outstanding team,” she shared in a post on social media.
Sarah will begin her role on September 15.
