Connecting Students to Agbioscience Careers with AgriNovus Indiana’s Field Atlas Program

There are a significant number of college students across Indiana that know they want to work in the science field—but, they may not know of the many career opportunities with Indiana’s agbioscience companies.
That’s why AgriNovus Indiana is helping students discover those career connections with their Field Atlas program.
It connects students with Indiana’s agbioscience companies. Through the program, students will go on company tours, on-farm visits, and have face-to-face interactions with Indiana’s agbioscience leaders and company managers.

One student who is part of the Field Atlas program is Ivan Musingo. He’s working on his Masters Degree in Engineering and Entrepreneurship at Notre Dame. He was part of a Field Atlas group this summer that took tours of several different ag companies across Indiana.
“I didn’t know that there’s a lot that is done with corn than just seeing it on the table,” he says. “There are actually so many things happening around [the corn industry]. There’s science it to, there’s business related to it, there’s testing and research that being done in labs.”
He says that going through the Field Atlas program has helped sharpen his goal of working with an ag company to help market new products.
“My plan is to commercialize the different products that all these companies are developing,” he says. “So, take what the client wants and then see that through development how we can best commercialize all those products that they developing.”
