A wanted Jennings County man was arrested with the help of sheriff’s department police dog Brock earlier this week.

According to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were searching for Johnathyn Lewis at a home in the northern part of the county Tuesday. Lewis was wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for possession of child pornography. But as deputies approached the home, they saw Lewis run from the back.

Despite repeated commands to stop, Lewis continued to flee. That’s when deputies used the dog to apprehend Lewis. He was taken into custody without further incident. After being treated at the hospital for injuries he received during the arrest, he was taken to the Jennings County Jail. In addition to the original charges, Lewis is also facing a new charge of resisting law enforcement.
