Olympians cool the Red Devils: set-piece sizzle, defensive freeze

Columbus East 1, Jeffersonville 0 — Boys Soccer

The Red Devils arrived with August flames—23 goals in eight matches—then ran into an Olympians back line that shut every window and locked every door. Jeffersonville finished with one shot (off target).

The winner was textbook whiteboard art. In the 23rd minute, David Sylva bent a 35-yard free kick into the mixer; centerback Eddie Aranda rose for the flick, and Emilio Quintero Aguirre nodded the final touch across the line. From there, East strangled passing lanes, won first balls, and cleaned up second balls so thoroughly that keeper Ryder Meek enjoyed the unicorn of goalie stats: a shutout without a recorded save. East owned a 12–1 shot edge (7 on goal) and pocketed a 1–0 Hoosier Hills win that travels well in the standings.
