Retired general Pillar to talk tonight about Sept. 11th

Retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Mark Pillar will be remembering his Sept. 11th experience with an event at The Ridge tonight.

According to organizers, the event will be from 6 to 7:15 p.m. at The Ridge. That is at 2800 Bonnell Road in Columbus.

Pillar began his Air Force career in 1971 and was assigned as a pilot at Da Nang Air Base in South Vietnam, where he flew more than 90 combat missions. In September of 2001 he began serving as
mobilization assistant to the Commander in Chief, U.S. Strategic Command, at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.

The event is in support of Folds of Honor. Folds of Honor provides scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military and to the families of America’s first responders.
