Shelbyville man facing charges for sexual material on children

A Shelbyville man has been arrested, accused of possessing sexual material about children.

According to the Indiana State Police, investigators with the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began investigating after receiving information about a month ago that a person possessed child sex abuse material. The investigators identified 39-year-old Dustin Deaton of Shelbyville as a suspect.

Search warrants were served on his home and Deaton was taken into custody for questioning. A forensic review of electronic devices found at the home revealed sex abuse materials. He was taken into custody and is facing felony charges for possessing and distributing child sexual abuse materials of children younger than 12.

The Indiana ICAC Task Force is a multiagency task force that investigates and prosecutes persons who use the internet to exploit or entice children sexually.
