Cougars Claw Past the Olympians
Trinity Lutheran’s Cougars showed their claws Monday night, scratching out a 4-1 win over the Columbus East boys tennis team. The Olympians found their lone spark at No. 2 singles, where Landon Redleman held his nerve in a marathon match, but Trinity’s depth across the lineup carried the night.
Jack Stuckwisch and Daniel Naewedde battled through tough singles points, while the doubles teams of Luke Schepman with Reed Roeder and Ross Bevers with Zach Lister pounced with straight-set wins. The Olympians, fresh off a season-opening victory, couldn’t quite string together enough volleys to keep pace with the Cougars’ quick strikes.
East may have fallen, but with early-season reps under their belts, the Olympians are still orbiting upward, looking for their next launch point.
