Reds Triples Fuel Win Over Angels

In Anaheim, the Cincinnati Reds raced around the bases like sprinters on a relay team, using three leadoff triples to power past the Los Angeles Angels 4-1. Gavin Lux’s early two-run homer gave the Reds all they needed, but Elly De La Cruz, Austin Hays, and Ke’Bryan Hayes all legged out triples to put extra fuel in the tank.
Brady Singer dealt six strong innings, picking up his 11th win of the season, while Scott Barlow slammed the door in the ninth for his first save. With the victory, the Reds (66-60) closed the gap in the Wild Card race and extended their winning streak over the Angels to nine games.
The Big Red Machine may not be back in full just yet, but this version of the Reds is showing they can still rev the engines when needed.
