Friday Night Lights on the Horizon: East and North Hosting Community Kickoff Events

Columbus, Ind. — The high school sports season is almost here, and two of the city’s powerhouse athletic programs are rolling out the welcome mat in style this Saturday.
Over on the east side, the Olympians will transform the south parking lot into a tailgater’s paradise from 4–7 p.m. for their annual Columbus East Tailgate Party. The lineup is stacked with live music, local food trucks, family-friendly games, and bounce houses for the youngest fans. The event serves as both a celebration of a new school year and a rallying point for another season of Orange and Brown pride.
Across town, the Bulldogs will paint the night blue and white at Max Andress Field for their annual Blue and White Night, beginning at 5 p.m. The festivities lead into the traditional Blue-White football scrimmage at 7:30 p.m., giving fans a first look at this year’s squad under the lights.
Whether you bleed Olympian orange or Bulldog blue, Saturday offers the perfect opportunity to load up on school spirit before the fall sports calendar kicks into high gear.
