Medora man arrested on child pornography charges

A Jackson County man is being accused of having child pornography on his phone.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy investigating a criminal case served a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Main Street of Medora on July 5th. The led to the confiscation of a phone owned by 41-year-old Kelly Johnson of Medora. The contents of the phone were downloaded during the investigation and possible sexual material involving children was discovered.
Yesterday, deputies served another search warrant at the home and found another cell phone, which also contained what authorities say were disturbing images of juveniles.
Johnson was arrested yesterday on charges of possession of child pornography.
The original criminal investigation is still ongoing and more charges may be forthcoming, deputies say.
