HORSEPOWER AND HOPE: Colts Camp Turns Up the Intensity
Over in Westfield, the Indianapolis Colts are flipping the script on their training camp routine in 2025. After years of easing into the season—and falling flat out of the gate—the Colts are tightening their chin straps and raising the heat.
Quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. and veteran Daniel Jones are squaring off in a camp QB battle that could define the franchise’s future. General Manager Chris Ballard is preaching patience with Richardson, pointing to the winding paths of past signal callers. But with padded practices introducing sudden-change drills and long-drive scrimmages, the pressure is on to prove it now.
On defense, DeForest Buckner has publicly called out last year’s unit for its lackluster effort, while tackle machine Zaire Franklin continues rehab from offseason ankle surgery. He’s expected to return soon, but until then, eyes are on young backers fighting for a starting spot.
Camp continues daily at Grand Park in Westfield, and with the first preseason game just weeks away, Colts Nation is watching every rep like it’s the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl.
