Indiana Baseball Stars Shine Bright in 2025 MLB Draft
The Hoosier State showed it still produces top-tier baseball talent as Indiana University and Notre Dame players, along with several high school standouts, heard their names called in this year’s MLB Draft.
Indiana University led the local charge with four players drafted:
-
Devin Taylor (OF) by the Athletics at 48,
-
Korbyn Dickerson (OF) by the Mariners at 152,
-
Columbus East alum Cole Gilley (P), who also pitched at Indiana State, went to the Phillies at 311,
-
Ben Grable (P) landed with the Yankees at 344.
Notre Dame saw two players drafted:
-
Rory Fox (P) to the Yankees at 194,
-
Estevan Moreno (SS) to the Mariners at 602.
Indiana high schools also sent three pitchers straight to the big leagues:
-
Joshua Flores (P) of Lake Central HS to the Brewers at 125,
-
Matthew Fisher (P) from Memorial HS to the Phillies at 221,
-
Alex Barr (P) of Kankakee Valley HS to the Athletics at 350.
Indiana continues to prove that it’s more than a basketball state — it’s a farm system for MLB dreams.
