Columbus East Baseball Drops Road Game at Greensburg
The Columbus East Olympians jumped out to a quick start on Wednesday night, but couldn’t hold off a Greensburg rally in a 12-4 defeat. East scored four runs in the top of the first inning behind a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to Bige Asher, a two-run error, and a passed ball. However, the Pirates responded with a six-run second inning, fueled by Joey Everroad’s three-run homer, and never looked back.
The Olympians managed just three hits on the evening—singles from AJ Tindell and Emmitt Harden, and a double from Logan Warren. Greensburg added insurance with a run in the third and four more in the late innings. East now sits at 6-13 and will return home Friday night to host rival Columbus North.
