IHSAA Finalizes Fall 2025 Sectional Alignments Across Football, Soccer, and Volleyball
The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) has officially announced the sectional alignments for the 2025 fall sports season, covering football, boys and girls soccer, and girls volleyball. The updates, approved at the IHSAA Executive Committee’s May meeting, incorporate the latest Tournament Success Factor adjustments and school classification changes.
Columbus-area teams received their marching orders for the postseason road ahead. In Class 6A Football, Columbus North stays in Sectional 8, joining perennial powerhouse Center Grove, Franklin Central, and Jeffersonville. Meanwhile, Columbus East remains in Class 5A and has been assigned to a tough Sectional 14, which includes East Central, Franklin Community, Seymour, and Whiteland.
Beyond football, the IHSAA also finalized brackets for boys and girls soccer and volleyball. Sectional play for soccer kicks off on October 6, volleyball opens on October 14, and football playoffs begin on October 24. Host sites for volleyball sectionals will be announced at the end of June.

These alignments are part of the IHSAA’s ongoing commitment to ensuring fair and competitive postseason play across all classifications. The association’s Tournament Success Factor continues to promote competitive balance by moving programs up or down based on multi-year postseason performance.
As always, the IHSAA’s mission remains rooted in supporting educational athletics across Indiana’s 409 member schools—public, private, and parochial—without any annual dues or tournament entry fees. With 22 sports and two unified events now officially recognized, the Association continues to champion opportunities for student-athletes across the state.
