Crimson Pride Rolling Toward History with Weekend Sweep
The IU Columbus softball squad turned heads on Saturday, powering through a road doubleheader sweep of West Virginia Tech to inch closer to their first-ever River States Conference Tournament appearance.
In the opener, pitchers Erica Henry and Maddison Brittain joined forces for a masterful four-hit shutout in a 7-0 win. Game two was more of a nail-biter, but the Crimson Pride raced to a 5-0 lead and held off a rally to win 5-3. Hauser alum Hannah Taylor stayed locked in at the plate with a 2-for-3 outing and a double, while Izzy Johnson came through with a pair of clutch RBIs.
At 15-25 overall and 12-16 in conference play, IUC heads into its final two doubleheaders of the regular season with momentum—and a shot at history.
