Arrest made in Pearl Street robbery
Columbus police have arrested a man suspected of wielding a machete to rob someone last week.
34-year-old Jayson Ackenback of Columbus is facing preliminary charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, intimidation with a deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle. He was already wanted on a Jennings County warrant for robbery with serious injury, felony criminal confinement and battery with serious injury.
According to police reports, officers found Ackenback at 8th and Union streets at about 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning. They say he allegedly used the machete to rob a victim in the 800 block of Pearl Street last week.
