The Columbus North girls’ basketball team extended their unbeaten streak to 7-0 Tuesday night with an impressive 66-43 road victory over Shelbyville. The Lady Bull Dogs overcame a slow first quarter, where they led by just four points, to dominate the second period with a 24-5 run that gave them a commanding 34-11 lead at halftime.
Avery Johnson led North’s balanced scoring attack with 18 points. Kenna Conrad added 13 points, while Hadassah Hurt chipped in 12. Ava Wilson contributed 10 points, and Kaylie Harmon added seven to round out the offensive effort. North’s defensive adjustments also played a key role, as they stifled Shelbyville’s offense and forced turnovers throughout the game.
