North Vernon center offering Beach Boys tribute
The not-for profit Park Theater Civic Center in North Vernon will be hosting a Beach Boys tribute band on Friday evening.
The Sounds of Summer will be performing at Friday night’s show. The group is made up of four North Vernon natives who perform the Beach Boys classic hits such as “Little Deuce Coupe,” “Surfer Girl,” and “Surfin’ USA”. Their Beach Boys themed act was featured on a “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” television show,
The show show starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. Tickets are $15.
Advance tickets may be purchased at the theater’s box office on North Madison Avenue. The box office is open Tuesday, Thursday an Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. If still available, tickets will also be sold at the door on Friday night.
The Park Theatre opened in 1916 with shows ranging from vaudeville acts to silent films but closed in the 1960s. A not for profit group was formed in the 1990s to renovate the venue and to reopen as a civic center.
