Thrive Alliance caregiver classes deadline approaches

The deadline is coming up next week to register for a seven-week series of workshops for caregivers being organized by Thrive Alliance.

Thrive Alliance is Indiana’s agency on aging for Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson and Jennings counties.

The agency will be offering the “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” series to provide caregivers with the tools to help take care of themselves while they are taking care of others. It will help family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate their feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. A Caregiver Handbook will also be given to those who take part.

There will be six sessions from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on each Thursday, starting October 19th, except for Thanksgiving Day. They will be held in the second floor conference room at the Doug Otto United Way Center on 13th Street in Bartholomew County.
