Person dies in crash near Bartholomew fairgrounds

Rescue workers were on the scene of a fatal two-vehicle crash on State Road 11 in Bartholomew County yesterday morning.

Lt. Matt Harris, spokesman for the Columbus Police Department, confirmed that there was a fatality but few details are yet available about the incident. The crash happened near Spear Street south of the Bartholomew County 4-H Faigrounds. IU Lifeline helicopter was on scene.

Police say that the road was closed for several hours during the crash cleanup and investigation.
