A suspect wanted on a warrant for dealing narcotics was arrested by Columbus police after running from officers.

Police say that they were called to the 1900 block of a Wallace Avenue about a disturbance there at about 8:50 a.m. Thursday morning. One of the men involved was 29-year-old Matthew T. Werner of Beech Grove, who police discovered was wanted on an outstanding Ripley County warrant.

Before police could arrest him, Werner allegedly took off and after a short chase, police used a Taser to subdue him.

He is facing new charges of resisting law enforcement.
