2017 Summer Girls Fastpitch Softball League in Columbus

2017 Summer Girls Fastpitch Softball League will be held at Clifty and Lincoln Parks.  Registration through Friday, March 24th, at the Columbus Parks and Recreation Dept, 739 22nd Street, Columbus. Individual sign-up ONLY (Ages 6-14+/HS) $50 per player (Scholarships Available) 8 game season played on Monday - Friday Division placement based on age as of 1/1/17 (must be 6 by this date) All participants must have a glove and it's recommended that players have their own helmet and cleats (T-Shirts provided) Refund deadline is March 24th at 5:00 PM Games begin week of May 15th (8U & 10U) and week of June 12th (13U & 14+/HS) Divisions: 8U, 10U, 13U, & 14+/HS For more information, contact the Columbus Parks and Recreation Dept. at 812-376-2680 or online at

Decorative Painting

Come join us in this decorative painting class using acrylic paint.  This month participants will paint a bird on a branch on an 11 x 14 wrapped canvas.  The class does use a bit of the one stroke technique and all skill level of painters are welcome.   $25 fee covers all supplies.  Register at under Events or call 812-379-1266.

The Wilsons at Mitchell Opera House

Ken and Debbie Wilson, along with Brian Sherwood, will perform at the Mitchell Opera House on March 18, 2017 at 7:00 PM. The Wilsons perform a variety of classic and contemporary acoustic music, as well as some originals at a variety of central Indiana wineries and clubs. The group appreciates good music and enduring lyrics—audiences can expect to hear songs from artists such as Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, the Beatles, Jimmy Buffett, Zac Brown Band, John Denver, and others in those genres whose songs are popular today or have stood the test of time. The Wilsons enjoy building a rapport with their listeners, engaging them in the music, and creating a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere.
