Indiana’s women have been important in shaping the Hoosier state, despite being almost invisible in written history. Author Louise Hillery will tell a dozen of their stories, from a wealthy Miami fur trader, through pioneer educators, artists, reformers, and businesswomen, to a World War II pilot. Her book, Bold Women in Indiana History is the result of ten years’ travel and research throughout the state. Copies will be available for purchase.Find out more »
Come to the Cabaret at The Commons presented by the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic for an intimate evening featuring world class talent on a small town stage! Reminiscent of a young Barbra Streisand, four-time Tony Award nominee and the actress who created the role of Cosette in Les Misérables, Judy Kuhn’s tender and wistful sound turns wonderfully full at the drop of a hat. Her ability to shape a phrase with velvety legato and find the right expressive coloring for each note and each word is the epitome of cultured vocalism. Kuhn’s show is titled Rodgers, Rodgers and Guetell. Tickets are $55 (VIP), $35 (Preferred), and $20 (General Admission). A plated dinner is available for $18; RSVP your dinner order by March 6.
