The Columbus Museum of Art+Design is happy to present a new exhibition at Hotel Indigo. This is all that was left  will open Monday November 14, 2016 and continue through Friday, February 3, 2017. Details about a closing reception are to come at a later date. For visual artist, Paige Mostowy, stories are the artifacts from her family’s past, rather than objects or place. Stories are constantly fluctuating and are passed down from person to person until finally those pieced together histories became truths. Mostowy’s work resides in a space where nostalgia is intertwined with misremembered instances embedded within a persons’ history. Creating reconstituted timelines through physical alteration of banal domesticated items, this body of work represents not only a severed history but also represents a potential for renewal. Transplanted from the North and raised in the winding suburbs of the South where the illusions of closeness were as abundant as kudzu overtaking the side of the roads and abandoned farm houses. Ecologic: Options for Rehabilitative Architecture

Exhibit presents work by architecture students from Iowa State University who designed buildings that prioritize sustainable and ethical habitation.  Sites include Columbus’s Pleasant Grove neighborhood, and sites in Monroe County.  The course was taught by Professor Kevin Lair.  Support provided by the Columbus Indiana Architectural Archives.

Devour Indy Winterfest 2017

Devour Downtown, Devour Northside and Chow Down Midtown have combined to create one large city-wide event, Devour Indy. The regional restaurant week experience will take place twice a year - two weeks in the winter and two weeks in the summer. The inaugural Devour Indy will run from Monday, Jan. 23 - Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017. Devour Indy includes participating eateries from Downtown, Midtown, Northside, Southside, Eastside and Westside. During the event, diners will be able to take advantage of three-course, value-priced menus including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Price Dependent on Each Restaurant. The Columbus Museum of Art+Design is happy to present a new exhibition at The Commons. In Union is open now through Monday, January 30, 2017. Details about a closing reception are to come at a later date. Through a convergence of materials, this series of vessels use a familiar vocabulary drawn from a legacy of makers and leads us into the unfamiliar, where materials embody idea and from becomes a question. In this body of work, Kleckner creates unique vessels and utensils through the combination of contrasting clay bodies, wood and thread.   Ellen Kleckner is a ceramic artist and currently serves as the Executive Director of The Ceramic Center in Cedar Rapids, IA. She studied at Ohio University, University of Nebraska Lincoln and the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, TN. Her work and studies have received serval awards and she has exhibited throughout the nation. Additionally, she been selected for artist-in-residencies at Flux Factory (NY), Arrowmont (TN) and International Ceramic Studio (Hungary).

Mud & Fire

The Indiana University Center for Art + Design is pleased to present an exhibition by Columbus’s own Robert Pulley, entitled Mud and Fire. This exhibition will open Thursday December 15th and continue through Friday February 24th, 2017.  An opening reception for the artist will be held on Thursday, December 15 from 5:30 - 8:30 PM.   Mud and Fire features new large-scale ceramic sculptures by Indiana-native artist Robert Pulley.  Also on display is a small selection of maquettes from the artist’s studio practice. These are a result of an ongoing preparatory process of model-making that the artist uses to sketch and develop his ideas and inspiration. This exhibition is curated by Jennifer Riley, a contributing editor at, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for Triangle Arts Association and the gallery Curator at Indiana University Center for Art+Design.

CARE Packages from the American Legion in Edinburgh

The American Legion Post 233 in Edinburgh is asking for your support as they send CARE packages to our troops overseas. They are looking for food, toiletries and many other items as well as letters of encouragement. A list of items is attached. Monetary donations are also welcome to help pay for postage and shipping. Donations and letters can be dropped off at the American Legion Post 233 in Edinburgh. A receipt for your tax deductible donation is available on request. Donations are due by February 15th.
